How do I edit the applications menu

Asked by tadiv

OK - so I'm working in the glome-panel desktop (GNOME flashback session) and, in the old days there was an "Applications" or "Places" menu dropdown that allowed editing of the menus (add / remove items from the "Applications" menu) - but now with the new and better interface, I can't find that editing function any more....

I saw an old post that mentioned editing ~/.config/menus/ but that path does not exist in my home directory...

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Very strange - I was adding this item to the "Internet" section, but somehow it was being added to the "Other" section...

I'm not sure if this is solved or not - I have the item, but not where I want it...

Suggestions?
