NOta able to install Ubuntu in HP Envy-15 J-048 laptop

Hi,

I am trying to install ubuntu 13.04 along side windows 8 in my hp envy 15 j-048 laptop (64-bit). AFter creating a bootable USB and booting from the USB, the display goes off and i am not able to proceed further. I tried with ubuntu 13.10 as well but no luck. Please help me on this.

Seems to use that switchable GPU nonsense. Try the boot option:

nouveau.blacklist=1

You will need to install Bumblebee to get the Optimus part of the system running in some fashion.

if you created a usb using unetbootin ,check please what bit installation iso image you have chosen.regards

By increasing the brightness I was able to complete the install, but this happens on every boot as well. Did not find much time to work on it further.
