Well there are multiple ways of doing it:

1.
- Do a google search on "Open Proxy" - such proxies hide your actual IP address (the systems you connect to, only see the IP address of the proxy, not your IP address).

You'll need to configure your web browser (or whatever software you're using) to use the proxy instead of connecting to the server directly.

2.
- If you're referring to blocking your ip while using peer 2 peer stuff i.e. While using torrents (bittorrent), then have a look at:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=192559

Hope it helps

Bhavani Shankar.

Just to add to Bhavani said, you can't fully hide your IP. Your ISP will always know since they give you your IP. Also, any proxy you connect to will know your IP but they don't pass that on to the site you are trying to connect to. However, the proxy can be worse as they can log all your traffic so you need to be able to trust the proxy. There are a lot of paid proxy services out there for that reason. There is also TOR (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_%28anonymity_network%29) which can be quite slow but is another type of proxy.
