Kubuntu 13.0.4 does not load

Start up pc login screeen pops up. Put in my pass it starts to load and then the screen has full of lines and is frozen. Re installed but still same problem. PC is a AMD MOB is an ASUS M2M-MX SE.

Hello,

we will need more info than a model and a brand name.

Please download and test Kubuntu 13.10 UNSTABLE. [1]

If you can reach the live desktop environment, open Konsole and apply these commands

    lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 vga
    sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends smartmontools
    sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda

Post back here FULL results.

P.S: If Kubuntu 13.10 works without a problem, then you can install it. It will be released at October 17th. Is considered as unstable but is satisfactorily stable few days before the stable release. You don't need to do anything to move into the stable release, just system updates.
