Use Hushmail Java applet on Ubuntu 13.04

Asked by Pablo

Hushmail offers the option of enabling Java so that the encryption is done locally. I cannot enable it with Ubuntu 13.04. I have asked them, and they reply that it has been too complicated to keep up with making Java work with the successive versions of Ubuntu. Several years ago they told me to install sun-java6-bin, sun-java6-jre, & sun-java6-plugin. I have them installed and I still can't enable Java. I doubt that they will give me more information, since as they say, it appears they gave up on making the applet work on Ubuntu. Can you give me any light on this question?

Thank you

Pablo

Thank you for the suggestions. I gather the optons proposed, at least the second, is in alpha version. I think I will pass at this point on these attemps, lest my attempts create more difficulties. But thank you.

Can you help with this problem?
