You better try to install Samsung drivers using

sudo apt-get install printer-driver-splix

and if it is installed already, try reinstalling

apt-get install --reinstall printer-driver-splix

usually this all in one driver should work in this case.

I Googled "Samsung ML-2165W Linux drivers". There are many answers, some seem to work, others do not. There may be one of them that works for you. Good Luck.

If you go to the samsung web pages - support - download drivers - search for your device ..., you should be able to download the linux driver, I guess in your case it will be ULD_Linux_V1.00.06.tar.gz
Extract that file to a suitable directory, switch to the uld subdirectory and execute "sudo"

Can you help with this problem?
