Just install package libdvdcss2 via Synaptic or via terminal using 'sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2' (it's in medibuntu repository).

If that doesn't solve the problem then install the following packages

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

Sorry for the late respond as I was doing some research.
I downloaded the file ="libdvdcss2_1.2.9.2.medibuntu4_i386.deb"
From>http://packages.medibuntu.org/pool/free/libd/libdvdcss:
Installed it without any sudo codes. Problem solved.
Thank you for your inputs.

I have followed the above and have not been able to solve the problem, although I downloaded the file libdvdcss2_1.2.9.2.medibuntu4_i386.deb

I still receive the message ' Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument'(Totem Player)

I have also downloaded gxine, which I cannot seem to reset as the default player in my preferences. Also noted my gstreamer volume control has been disconnected since I downloaded the latest updates.

Your advice would be most appreciated. I am a complete beginner.
