Where to install grub bootloader on second hard disk?

Asked by Myroslav

I'm trying to install 13.04 from an iso.

I have two hard drives with Windows 7 as sda.

I have partitioned sdb as follows:

/boot
/
/home
/swap

Is the above correct?

At the end, I am the asked to choose a location for the bootloader and don't know what to choose.

I would like grub to appear when I fire up my computer, giving me the choice of Windows or Ubuntu.

Thank you

With "I have two hard drives with Windows 7 as sda." I suspect you mean, you have to two partitions on one drive. Microsofts wording on this is not really clear. And you are booting Window from one of these partitions.
You should place grub in the MBR of the first drive. That should be /dev/sda. If it only useful to put it on /dev/sdb if your BIOS allows you to choose the boot drive and you want to use that feature.

Thank you for the response, but I figured things out by myself. I had not understood the installation instructions. Thank you nonetheless.
