12.04 wont recognise samsung tablet

My system will not recognise a Samsung tablet, it is recognised ok on a laptop which is running 13.04

The old libraries for PTP/MTP in 12.04 are not working properly with many Android devices.
You can update your Ubuntu of use a PPA as described here: http://www.webupd8.org/2013/01/upgrade-to-gvfs-with-mtp-support-in.html
