Chromium Profile Not Accessed - Ubuntu 13.04

Asked by Dave Leland

The following error appears when opening Chromium:

"Your profile could not be opened correctly.
Some features may be unavailable. Please check that the profile exists and you have permission to read and write its contents."

I have verfied the Google and Gmail passwords, disconnected and re-connected the Google Account. Profile shows at this point and Chromium syncs properly. On restart of Chromium, the same error ocurrs (about 6 or 8 error windows).

One observation: Normally when Ubuntu starts, the keyring doesn't appear. However, the first time I open Chromum, it appears. There used to be a way to check the keyring in system settings. I don't see it in this version. Is this by design, or perhaps not installed correctly? - Dave

Try renaming the chromium configuration folder which is hidden in your home folder then launch the browser. You can then log in with yoyr account again and resync your settings
