print preview in open office calc

Asked by Leif Petersen

If I want to see a print preview of my spreadsheet in calc I just press the 'print view' style icon (next to the print icon) on the top toolbar, this allows me to see what will print on a single page, layout etc.

However, if I have two spreadsheets in one document (ie one can be opened by clicking on the tabs in the bottom left hand corner of the page) and I want to see a print preview of the second spreadsheet, I open the second spreadsheet then click on the print view icon, only to see a print view of the first spreadsheet. I have not managed to be able to get a print view of the second spreadsheet at all.

If I cut and paste the second spreadsheet into a new document, then the print view works fine. It appears as if the print view can only see the 1st spread sheet in any one file. What fundamental step am I missing here to make it possible to view the second spreadsheet in a single file print view?!!

thanks
leif

Hi Leif,

I don't understand your problem quite well, I Can see all the spreedsheets on the print preview view, Isn't be a problem of your print margins? Change the view on View from Normal to see print margins and have a look.

Hi Mario
thanks for your thoughts. What I suspect happens if the document saved as .xls (ie as an MS Excel sheet) then the second spreadsheet tab will not let me view it. if it is saved as a Calc file then it works fine. I just did it again to check. make sense?
thanks again

Yes, make sense. I prove it and doesn't work to. This can be a feature to request to the OpenOffice guys.
