Ubuntu 13.04 has suddenly gone slow

Ubuntu 13.04 was working fine but past couple of days it has become so slow that its almost unusable and often the screen turns off and some text based interface telling that there was fatal flaw comes up.I have taken pics of the screen but I can't paste here . please help

I want to clean install but I don't know how to do it
1. How to back up?
2. Can I install 64 bit in partition with windows ?

Yes you can use 64bit as long as your CPU is 64bit.

Copy your user data a removable storage, reinstall then reinstate the data
