How to access desktop in Xubuntu

Have just installed Xubuntu on my daughter's computer. When I boot from the hard disk, I get a screen requesting name & password. When I enter these, I get another screen with name followed by ~$: XFCE desktop installed, but how do I get to the desktop???? PLEASE ADVISE, SOMEONE?

Run:

startx

You may also want to run full updates in the terminal you have now. May help.
