Where are program files, Located for choosing an application?

I tried to Download a file, it says to choose an Application.
Where are the program files so I can do that.
or can i get a Downloader to stop this nonsense?

Yes it is it's called Mythbuntu it allowws Me to watch TV on my computer

No. On the contrary, Ubuntu by default has Transmission installed unlike Windows where one must be manually added by the user. The binary is /usr/bin/transmission-gtk

By this token, torrents are less forbidden in Linux than in Windows.

You do realise that you can install all the packages from Mythbuntu in the default Ubuntu with no adverse effects? You don't need to dual boot as the operating systems are identical. Is this what you were planning to do?

I am New to linux I bought a Diablotek U310 keyboard PC with ubuntu for less than two hundred buck, i am Learning I downloaded it on my win7 netbook, now i have to burn a disk.
I just wish I could do Torrents in linux, but finding applications is Impossible

How is it impossible? Again, Transmission is installed by default. Open torrent files with Transmission and it will start the download process. How does that mean it is impossible?

Thats fine, but where is the Transmission Application.
I have to choose what application to use
