HPLIP daily downloads !!

Asked by srikumar

I am using Ubuntu 13.04 and the latest HPLIP-3.13.6
Printers are HP Laser Jet 1020 and P1005.

There is an error message which appears now and then and I click "report problem" then after some time an error message appears "Ubuntu has experienced an internal error". This error is with regard to the USB printer.

The only way to get my printers going is to 'install required plug in" or "download firmware" every time the computer is booted up. It seems that the correct path to the firmware/plug in is not available to the system.

What should be done to ovecome this problem.

Any suggestions?
Thank you

Thank you, but I do not know how to do this and I don't want to do the wrong thing and mess it up.

What should be the corrrect path statement and where do I find the one that should be edited.

Any suggestions ?
Thank you.

Have removed HPLIP using the Software Centre
rebooted the Computer
and installed HPLIP

Now after booting up a new window appears requiring HLPIL plug in to be installed, after the plug in is installed the printers work OK.
BUT this has to be done every time after booting up!!

Any suggestions?
Thank you

My suggestion is to report a bug about this.

How to report bugs ?
