Failed to fetch error

Asked by Ivan Marquesi Lerner

I've been having this bug since I installed the program rawstudio, with a launchpad ppa repository.

I've looked online and found an official solution for the problem: http://blog.launchpad.net/ppa/failed-to-fetch-errors-for-ppas

The thing is, in the files that they say we need to change, there aren't any launchpad entries, does anybody know what I need to do?

sudo apt-get update outputs:

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/rawstudio/ppa/ubuntu/dists/raring/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Using ubuntu 13.04

I thought that wasn't necessary since the link with the solution seems general, but is what I have posted now enouth?

it is because there is no support for 13.04 Raring yet. Here please take a look at:

https://launchpad.net/~rawstudio/+archive/ppa

As I can see there the Quantal - 12.10 is latest supported for this PPA:

rawstudio-daily 4415+554-0ubuntu1~quantal1

Oh, I understand. Then what should I do, wait for the raring release or use the latest version? And what do I need to do to use the latest version?

You will need to remove the PPA so that the package system is smooth. If you start adding third party package sources, don't be surprised if you get issues. Not all PPAs support all releases.

You could contact the PPA maintainer to see if Raring support is in the pipeline.

Can you help with this problem?
