Which of following Notebooks works best with Ubuntu 12.04

Asked by Paraobuntu

Hi,
I'm about to get myself a new notebook without OS because I have been using Linux systems for years now and I'd rather stop using computers than going back to Microsoft.

Anyway .. none of the small variety of notebooks, which are being sold in my country without WINDOWS and which I can afford, are listed on the "Ubuntu certified notebooks and hardware" -sites. So I wanted to ask If someone knows which of the following models would probably work without problems through direct installation of Ubuntu_12.04. (12.10 or any kind of uptodate and supported Ubuntu would be fine too)

My options:
1) Acer Aspire V3-531-B964G50Makk Pentium b960 6GB-Ram 500GB (my preferred option)
2) Packard Bell EasyNote TE11HC-B964G50Mnks Intel Pentium B960 6GB/500GB (2nd best ..same processor anyway)
3) Acer TravelMate P253-E-B9604G50Mnks B960 500GB 6GB RAM
4) Asus F55A-SX091D Intel Pentium B980 (2,4 GHz) Dual-Core 4GB 500GB
5) Lenovo G580 MBBG3GE - B960 4GB 320GB (i wouldn't love this option)

If anyone could help me with this decision.. would be really thankful. Anyway I can always return the laptop within 14days in case it turned out that some things/drivers are not supported, so wouldn't be too dramatic if you tried to help me without being absolutely certain.

The packard Bell I have seen a lot of issues with. I suggest you avoid it. Amazon people frequently post success / fails on the site which can be useful. Also check out http://www.linux-laptop.net/

Another good site to check is linlap.com, which seems to have more current info.

Can you help with this problem?
