Webcam doesn't work on Ubuntu 12.10

Asked by TANMAY TRIVEDI

I have HP Pavilion g6-2228tu Notebook. My laptop webcam is unavailable and not recognised by Ubuntu 12.10.
I also downloaded cheese . Wil it work or there will be any particular driver for it?
I also don't know how to install cheese!
Thanks for taking interest in my problem .

If you willing to use a non-LTS version of Ubuntu , then it would be better for you to install the latest version : Ubuntu 13.04 . It is newer and probably support more products.

As for cheese, is included in Ubuntu software center as thousands of programs. Forget the Windows way of download the program from Web and install it.

Open Ubuntu Software Center and at search box write : cheese
click the install button and .. done.

But first consider what I've said about installation of the latest version of Ubuntu. (13.04).
