Is there more than one card in your system?

What do the following commands show:-

ls -l /proc/asound

cat /proc/asound/cards

buddy! first chek "IRQ" numbers in your laptop!.'cause may there was an irq crash!. if doesnt work:it's mean your sound unit non
compatible with ubuntu!.1-try to go;for motherboard manufacture and get ubntu compatible drivers!..so if doesnt work this;try to chek 1by1 with qualifide one!!.
