Do I need a full Server
Hi
I'm learning WebGL & need to open stuff I've saved on my Comp. with a browser. But the new security settings won't let me. It seems I need a server to put my stuff into. Is there a simple server I can use or do I need to download the full Ubuntu server?
Thanks
d0m.

You can run server apps on the desktop OS. There is no restriction.

To set up your computer with a full LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP/Perl/Python) stack see here
https:/
Depending on what you are doing you may not need the whole stack.
What 'server app', it makes no sense at all. There are countless servers you can run; ftp server, http server, sql server. so "server app" is nonsense.
What sort of server do you need?

I agree with actionparsnip here: There are lots of different types of server.
My answer above is for a Web server as you mentioned WebGL and a browser. But if that's not what you want tell us exactly what you are trying to do.

Hi
I just want to see my web pages on my Comp. that have WebGL on them. They make a call to WebGl & OpenGl etc. & so are treated as viruses & wont open properly.
Thanks
