startup tone unmute after each boot

before shutting down the notebook volume is zero but after restarting volume goes full

ubuntu 12.04.2

Just to clarify, if you set the volume to zero, after you reboot the volume is not zero

Try:

killall pulseaudio; rm -r ~/.pulse*

Wait 10 seconds and reboot
