keyboard problems in ubuntu 11.10 blenderbuntu

the w key and the backspace key wont respond anywhere else but the applicaitons panel (gnome 3.0)

i even tried an onscreen keyboard and it wont recognize the w key

Not only is 11.10 EOL but blenderbuntu is not supported here it has it's own community and support. I suggest you post here:

I suggest upgrading to a newer version of blenderbuntu, perhaps 12.04 LTS (if it exists).
