How to delete Thunderbird Account

Asked by MadhuSoodanan

Thunderbird's Mail and News Accounts shows that I have 4 Accounts. Account1 is Local Folders. Account2 (movemail)localhost & Account3 show that they have the same Outgoing server names. On the left side pane of Thunderbird, 2 Accounts have the same name. Among these two Account2 does not working at all. So I wish to delete one i.e., Account2. Account3 is working well. Account4 doesn't accept password. This may be a bug. I will send the bug report later. Now I wish to delete Account2 localhost.
Qn #224839 shows the following solution:
Edit → Account Settings… → (Mark the account to delete!) → Account Actions → Remove Account
But I can't see this in Edit. I can see 'Edit card' in Account settings.

Is the storage that Thunderbird is on mounted read only?
Have you also tried posting on the Thunderbird forum?

I don't know how to check it. Sending is also possible.

Months ago I tried to post. But not now.

I could send and recieve by account3 (i.e.,gmail). I think account2 has problems. Its account name on the side pane is still in gmail. Account3 is also in gmail.

Under Default? ... Three accounts shows "true". See below:

account1(none) Local Folders
account2(movemail) localhost ........................true
account3(imap)imap .googlemail........................true
account4(pop3) pop.yahoo.com: ...................... true
