Sync music from any Ubuntu version to iPad 3

how on earth can i copy music from my computer to my 3rd gen ipad.

i am running Ubuntu 13.04 with kernel 3.9.

i've been trying to do this since 12.04 and it never works.

any fix for this yet???

You can simply , but SIMPLY use the ubuntu-one FREE space (5GB) that Canonical offer to you. So SIMPLE.

doesn't really solve the issue. when i plug in the ipad into the usb port Ubuntu finds it and asks what to do with it. i select banshee and it show up on the list on the left hand side. when i try to sync it appears to work but when i check the ipad, nothing has changed. it wont even change the ipad. any other ideas??
