vmware-server lost connection on wireless

I am using vmware-server (installed from canonical partner repository) on my ubuntu 7.10 to run a winxp virtual machine. As I am using a laptop, my only way to have internet is thru the wireless (ipw2100). I have configured the virtual machine network connection as Bridged to the host.
As soon as the VM starts, I lost the connection on the ubuntu side too, so the whole pc is unconnected.
