Microphone stopped working with Skype.
I'm on Ubuntu 7.10 and can't get microphone to work with
Skype 2.0.0.27-
with the gnome-sound-
work with Skype. Maybe some recent update to sound
infrastructure broken it somehow? Maybe the mixer
settings just went wrong at some point. I really don't know.
Going to System -> Preferences -> Sound and selecting
ALSA for Audio Conferencing / Sound capture gives me the
following error...
"Failed to construct test pipeline for 'gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat'"
I've read from multiple sources that this should not affect
Skype or gnome-sound-
hopeless trying to find out the correct mixer settings.
Please tell me how to set the mixer settings so I can make
Skype work again.

Yes. Also the microphone works. I can speak on the microphone
and hear my voice coming out of the speakers.

I just downloaded and then installed from here
http://
I chose the version for feisty fawn but it works just fine with gutsygibbon
Don't know if you alreade have done this but it is worth a try..

I use the one from Medibuntu. It works ok.
Getting sound from microphone does not.
