Do I Need Licence To Have Ubuntu On My Personal Desktop ?

Asked by GK

It may sound like a very basic question but I need a confirmation from experts like you.

I've a dell precision T3600 workstation and this is purely for personal use. Is there any licence cost to use it on my desktop ?

If yes, where could I find those details ?

Thanks for helping !

No, Ubuntu is absolutely free. It open-source and you may download as many copies as you like from the official site: http://www.ubuntu.com/ . Also, it doesn't matter if your using it for personal use or for your business, it is still completely free. One of the many benefits of using Linux. The majority of software you may also download for free. You may use Ubuntu Software Centre to download free applications. It comes preloaded with Ubuntu. Have fun and enjoy, if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

One more cool fact I just found out about Ubuntu: You can actually download Ubuntu for free, and legally sell the free copies you downloaded to other people.

All of the licensing info can be found here:
