Try updating your system using the xorg edgers PPA (not the bleeding edge). May help. I have seen this a few times.

I am experiencing the same problem. The Ubuntu Launchpad question with the most traction appears to be:

 https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/224819

I have also linked it with an existing, confirmed bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1124064

If you are experiencing the same issue, please go to the bug (the second link) and click on the "pencil" icon beside the text that says "This bug affects you and X other people" to bump it.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Marina Hildebrand for more information if necessary.
