can't install .rpm

i got a light scribe dvd drive and i went through the Ubuntu web site and found a program that should work but its an .rpm file i can't figure out how to install it i git the file from
LaCie LightScribe Labeler. or if you have a different program that does the same as this orn please let me know

RPM packages are for RedHat based distributions (Madriva, Fedora, SuSE etc.). My advice is - first tryto search DEB package or source for compiling and at least try to use Alien - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RPM/AlienHowto
