Ubuntu Installation problems.

Asked by Muhammad Usman

I got my Ubuntu CD installed on one of my drives(emptied for Ubuntu) from Win xp. During "Booting", Two options came on my descrition to opt for Win XP or UBUNTU LINUX. I chose the second. After some screen fluctuations, I got my head struck with these messages.

1. Acpi force is required to install Ubuntu. (Then it starts accessing from floppy drive).

2. [60.041541] ata 2.00: Exception Emask 0*0 SAct 0*0 Serr 0*0 action )*2 frozen(and like that)

It went to shell and said to type "help" for some built-in commands. Please help me as I want to install Ubuntu on my system immediately. Moreover, I have no knowledge of Shell and Linux. I know Dos, but I want to relieve myself from Windows OS, because they are used to crash time by time. Thanks
