software issue

Hello,

I downloaded a software program from the software center called, myDesktopcalender free trial. The program did not work and I tried to uninstall it. When I rebooted the computer the icon was still on the desktop. I tried installing and removing the program and it still will not go away. Any ideas how to get rid of this?

if its only on the desktop then just delete it

Its only on the desktop but it won/t go away. I tried right clidking on it but there is no delete function. I tried to highlight it but it won't do anything that way. You can/t click on this thing and I can't move it or hide it.

Could use terminal and delete the file in terminal.

How do I delete this file in the terminal. I do not know what commands to use.

cd ~/Desktop

will chnage the directory to the desktop, you can then use:

rm filename

to delete filename. Obviously CHANGE the command to the filename you want to remove (case sensitive). You can use TAB to autocomplete the filenames too

Hello,

I tried the command above and the output is listed below.
Acording to the output, there is no such file, obviously because I deleted the program through the software center
but the icons are still on my desktop and wont go away.
Do you have some other ideas?

 cd ~/Desktop

:~/Desktop$ rm myDesktopCalender Trialversion
rm: cannot remove `myDesktopCalender': No such file or directory
rm: cannot remove `Trialversion': No such file or directory

Here is the output from above but I do not see this file: myDesktopCalender Trialversion in here. It was not listed in the terminal either.

I downloaded this program from the software center called myDesktopCalender Trialversion....The regular version cost money.

The program installed a calender on my desktop and on the bottom of the desktop are the words...myDesktopCalender Trialversion

I cannot get rid of the calender and the words on the bottom. I have installed and uninstalled the program several times and I have tried to uninstall it in the terminal but the terminal cannot find it and in the command given above, the output showed there that this program was not on the desktop so I do not know how to get rid of this.
