Symbol 2200 Scanner Not Working Under 12.04

Asked by Gareth Jacobs

Motorolla Symbol 2200 USB scanner configured and working okay under Windows 2007.

Plug scanner into Kubuntu 12.04 workstation (where it is going to live) and it does not function at all. It lights up but does not scan the barcode. Transfer it back to Windows and it works as expected.

Is there an option in the 12.04 Kernel I need to select and recompile?

Regards
Gareth

I should clarify that the barcode scans - but it does not put the code in the field - not even in a Kate page.

Now working after taking scanner back to factory reset and re-configuring.

Even though it ran under Windows - it would not under Kubuntu - now it is.

Not a solution, but at least it is working now.
