Error en el gestor de paquetes

La barra superior del sistema dice:
 "Error en el gestor de paquetes (E:euntered a seccion whit no Pakage:Header,E:problem whit mergelLists/var/lib/apt/list/
mx.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_quantal_main_i18n_Translation-en
E:the package list or status file could not be parsed or opened

No se puede conectar a ninguna fuente y no puedo abrir al centro de software

Es un problema con el directorio: /var/lib/apt/lists/

En una terminal abre nautilus: gksudo nautilus (te pedira el password de root), ve al directorio en cuestion: /var/lib/apt/lists/ luego alli borra el contenido.

Una vez hecho esto cierra nautilus y en la terminal actualiza los paquetes, para descargar de nuevo la lista de repositorios: sudo apt-get update

Eso deberia funcionar :D
