Wine Looking for Internet Explorer when its not to be found

Asked by Vernamon

I'm currently using the most current Ubuntu Linux My Wine is trying to look for Internet Explorer. Wine Door's says its installed when it is not. I've been trying to install a game, an online game at that, and every time it freezes up and goes no where and pops up with a message surrounded by a black box with it saying "There was an error loading Internet Explorer. Please make sure Internet Explorer is installed and working correctly." I also would like to add that I can't get my WoW FPS higher than 10 so I lag really bad and I would like to know how to change it if possible. the game I'm trying to install is Lost Chaos here's the link to it if it helps. http://lastchaos.aeriagames.com/ ....... I've gotten it to go as far as to start the installation wizard with about 4 bars in till it freezes....Here is my computer's system Info:

                         Ubuntu
                             Release 7.10 (gutsy)
                             Kernel Linux 2.6.22-14-generic
                             GNOME 2.20.1
                          Hardware
                                Memory: 1011.4 MB
                                Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz

if you have any further questions ask and I'll answer them the best I can if it would help.

Since this is more of a support request than a bug report, and wine-doors isn't part of Ubuntu, I'm converting this into a question. Please use the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu or the forums at http:/ubuntuforums.org for support. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs may also be helpful.

Try running this command from a terminal:
wine iexplore http://winehq.org

Also look at:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=4394

It doesn't look very good for Wine and the game in question based on that page, though.

Can you help with this problem?
