I made a mistake in my question here is what I wanted to do. I wanted to add a cronjob like this sudo gedit /etc/crontab and then add this command, 11 1 *** root mkdir /tmp/virus ; clamscan -ri --log=/var/log/clamscan.log ↵ --move=/tmp/virus /, do you see the enter symbol in the crontab command that is what I dont know how to type using gedit to solve the problem I used Abi word to edit /etc/crontab but I would still like to know how to do it using gedit or some other text editor.
Thanks for the reply.

You can use the gedit symbol browser to enter symbols in gedit
