Asked by Encho Naydenov

Are there any bugs reported?

This zendisk as400 , that is an hdd correct? How are you connecting to the hdd, via wifi or via usb (according to asus website you can connect via both). Please plug in your hdd into an available usb port.

Has the hdd been used before (does it have data on it?). If not then the hdd may not be formatted yet, hence it is not showing up. The virtual cd can be (may be) saved in firmware, that's why you are seeing it.

Thanks

Yes, ZENDISK is HDD connected via USB. I can see virtual CD, but not HDD.
It is properly formatted, I can use it on other Windows computers without any problem.

On windows computer you can see both - virtual CD and HDD, as two separate devices.

With the device connected, run:

sudo fdisk -l; mount; lsb_release -a; uname -a

What is the full output please?

Thanks

Have you tried with the official kernel for Ubuntu rather than some 3rd party kernel.

this is the preinstalled kernel , I have never change it.
Are you sure that this is not a generic kernel?

Hi,

 i have external USB 3.0 disk - Asus Zendisk EXt.HDD, P/N
90-XB2Z00HD00030, i have not idea to mount it. Xubuntu 16.04.1, amd64, original xenial kernel.

The manual for the device states that it uses:
Driver: U3 NEC Onboard Driver 1.0.19.0

I tried to get an answer on the forums (forum.root.cz,
forum.ubuntu.cz), unfortunately without success.

 Please excuse my English.

In Windows 10 operating without installing drivers (out of the box).
