Evolution 'restore from back-up' isn't working

Asked by parveen nasa

I have changed my Ubuntu from 12.10 to 12.04 LTS, since I was facing difficulties with 12.10.
I had taken backup of my Evolution data while in 12.10. Now I want to restore it in 12.04 to have my mails back.
The process for the backup starts and after few minutes, evolution opens again but it doesn't show any of my previous data.
Another issue I am facing while downloading any software from Ubuntu software centre, that for most of the softwares, it gives the error 'Package dependencies cannot be resolved'.
Kindly help me in resolving these two issues.
Thanks and best regards,
parveen nasa

I have manually unzipped the backup file and pasted the files to respective folders of Evolution.
I got my mails back, but some of the settings have got lost, which is not so serious problem. I am happy to get my mails back.
thanks so much for your support.
