how do i rum this command "rm -r ~/.gconf/apps/totem" to solve the black and white video

I don't understand you - just go to terminal (Applications → Accesories → Terminal) write down it and enter...

You can do it also otherwise - run Nautilus (Places → Home Folder) → Ctrl + H (or View → Show Hidden Files) and go to directory .gconf → apps and delete totem...

Yes, but it looks that this directory doesn't exist → go to nautilus (my second suggestion) and look there...

a) in Ubuntu depends on cappital x small leter (so command is nautilus)
b) why didn't you use Places → Home Folder as I wrote...

Simply - you want do remove directory /home/kwam/.gconf/apps/totem - it doesn't exist → you can't remove it because it has been removed yet...

hi, the system was formated due to some problems with vista.
after installing ubuntu, i installed downloaded and installed realplayer and the colour is working now. thank you.
