keyboard & mouse freeze

Asked by Amy

i used wubi to install ubuntu 10.04.
after the installation process, when i reach the login screen, the mouse and keyboard seem to freeze.
i know its not the entire system that has frozen because the system time continues to change.
so now i restarted the system and selected the ubuntu recovery mode->low graphics.
here the mouse & keyboard work perfectly.
please help.
i want to be able to use the normal ubuntu.

Lucid is EOL in little over one month. After that it will get zero support and zero updates. I recommend you abandon the Lucid install and make a fresh install of Precise. Preferably not using Wubi.

and will precise work well with my system configurations?

yes Precise will work well. Wubi is very fragile and hard to fix if it refuses to boot (if you are a new user). It is also affected directly by the shortcomings of NTFS, especially fragmentation. Even it's developers state it is a quick "try before you buy" rather than a long term solution.

It adds an option to the module being loaded, making it behave differently
