Do you have addons installed for Firefox? Have you tried disabling them?
If you make a new user, is it the same there?

It's happening to me in google-chrome, I want a good explanation why ubuntu is trying to login to facebook when I'm not using any facebook app in ubuntu. I'm getting worried that maybe it's a virus embedded in a gnome-shell extension or something like that.
