Messed up OS. video driver or flash.

Asked by davidzaq1

Hello,

I was trying to fix a few bugs on my computer and something went wrong.
I tried to fix a driver problem. When the computer rebooted, everything was 10 times larger than normal and I cannot even see all of the buttons on the desktop.
Even when I open the email like Yahoo. the page is huge.
Any other page that I try to open like settings, or software center, it so large I cant get to anythng on the page. I do not know what happened.

Is there anyway to go back and fix this?

Thanks, david

Hi,
you can try to open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and un-install and re-install your graphics card driver. What is the Ubuntu version and the graphics card ?

It would be helpful if you remembered what you did.

Thank you.

I followed the instructions that was given to me when I asked for help last time. It turned out that what ever happened or went wrong, ended up removing my driver. I reinstalled the driver and then it fixed the problem.

I keep getting this message:

The following packages requested additional data downloads after package installation, but the data could not be downloaded or could not be processed.

flashplugin-installer

This is a permanent failure that leaves these packages unusable on your system. You may need to fix your Internet connection, then remove and reinstall the packages to fix this problem.

Acording to the software center, falsh plugin-installer is installed so, I do not know why this message keeps coming back.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you, David
