just downloaded told could alongside windows 7 how does that work lost all photos games

just downloaded told it would work along side windows 7 how does that work lost photos games basiclly its taken over my computer want windows 7 back or a way for them to work together dont even know if i have internet security. no control panel no way of finding anything on my computer that was there before. no help in finding the above any ideas..

1. Can you boot the machine and log in to Ubuntu?
2. Can you see the booting menu?
3. Is there any windows related item you can choice?
4. Where did you install the Ubuntu, you format whole disc?
