Problem with UbuntuOne publishing

Asked by Ak!

After every time i restart my laptop (Ubuntu 12.10), i need to re-publish my files in Ubuntu-one folder in order to be able to copy their web links. Can this be solved so that i click on publish only once for each file?

I see you have been having this problem for 4 months or longer, and you still haven't found a solution. If you have actually been searching the web and trying to fix this issue for that long, then it's probably a bug. You should notify the Ubuntu One project and/or file a bug with bugs.launchpad.net if this is indeed a bug. If you are wondering how I knew you have been having this problem it is because I assumed this is your question http://askubuntu.com/questions/199007/ubuntu-one-issue-with-publishing-in-ubuntu-12-10 asked in october, as it is identical to the one you just asked. Correct me if I am wrong though. Also if you change the content of the file then you have to republish it, but you probably already know that.

You are right. The same problem persists also in Ubuntu 13.04. I really hope this can be fixed. "Also if you change the content of the file then you have to republish it, but you probably already know that." I know that and this is not the situation. Nothing was changes in the files.

How you published your files ?
I have 4-5 files published for 3-4 months now and never had any problem with them..

I used a browser , visited my account and published my files from there..
https://one.ubuntu.com/

If the problem persists , then report a bug or communicate with Ubuntu One guys to help you.

Thanks

Publishing from the website is not a problem. I usually publish the files from the Ubuntu One folder itself (Right clik on a file in Ubuntu One, move the mouse over Ubuntu One and then click Publish). It's not that the file gets unpublished. Its just that after restarting i need to repeat the procedure in order to be able to Copy Web Link. I believe this feature was provided so that we don't need to access the browser in order to publish files or get the links of the published files.
If i have placed this issue in a wrong place, kindly let me know where you would like me to bring it up. This problem persists in Ubuntu 13.04 too.

Sorry I don't understand..

How can you get the links from UbuntuOne client software ?

I only get the links from a browser.. You can just copy-paste the links to a document , to have them available without to open a browser.

Once the file be published , then is published for ever and the link not change... except if YOU make the file private. (again).

Thanks
