Not able to see init programs at start. Is there a verbose mode?

Asked by Lucas Arruda

In Ubuntu past versions, we were able to see what was starting in our system. Is there a way to see it when we start the system, by pressing F2 or something?
Or, the only way would be by logs. If, yes, were could I see this?

Thanks!

You can enable boot messages by editing your /boot/grub/menu.lst file. About halfway down the file, there is a commented "defoptions" line: leave the line commented, but remove the "quiet" option from the end of it. Then run update-grub.
