Loading and running Ubuntu on windows 8

Asked by Rich Walter

     Hello,
I just purchased a new laptop which runs the Windows 8 system. I want to load and run Ubuntu for online uses. What do I need to do to load Ubuntu? I did not see any instructions in regards to Windows 8. Do I just follow the instructions as given for Windows systems on the Home page. I just need to be sure of how to get started.

                                                                                                                                                                     Thank you.

Resize your NTFS partition to make room for Ubuntu. Then make an Ubuntu install CD or USB (remember to MD5 test the ISO you downloaded) and install to the freed space.
