Exiting fullscreen flash videos causes screen to go 100% gray

Asked by Anhar Miah

This has now occurred three times, and thus I suspect its a bug.

When exiting a flash video from full screen, the whole screen is simply gray. The only other thing displaying is the mouse cursor.

A hard reboot is then required.

A few details:

Ubuntu 12.10.
Aspire 5738.
Google Chrome browser.

I can not recall this every happening in 12.04.

If you run the command as given it reduces the likelihood of errors.

sudo apt-get --purge remove flashplugin-installer

The browser has it's own flash, so you don't need the extra plugin

I have no flashplugin-installer but I still get the same error in Google Chrome. But I guess it is a Chrome issue then?

Can you help with this problem?
