Web apps, I click install and never see them. Where did they go?

Asked by Kent Green

Just installed 12.10 version and when I log on to facebook I was asked if I wanted to download the web app, I click install and it is no where to be found. How do I get it to work? Where are they hiding?

You want to be careful downloading software from the web unless you are sure you trust the provider.

1 Are you sure the app you are downloading will run on Linux?

2. Assuming you are using Firefox as your browser if you select "Edit" > "Preferences" from the menu then the "General" tab that should tell you where files are being downloaded to.

Hi,

We app in ubuntu 12.10 is just like any other native app in your enviorment.
You can find it in unity application lens searching for "facebook" for facebook app.
Also opening facebook in browser you'll see in application switcher menu that facebook is there even if you open a facebook in firefox as any other tab.
This is how web app works.
