No panic, please.....

can you tell me what kind of computer are you using?

Then you must launch this command:

     lspci

and post here its output.

thanks man i still have a bit of hope i think i downloaded the 64-bit version of ubuntum where do you get the 32 bit one i will solve the wify issue later when i get the 32 bit version so my comp could handle the graphics

what does jim hutison mean by this after i download this version i will solve the wify problem

hat system may be capable of running the 64 bit version but to be honest, I'd suggest sticking with the standard 32 bit. The download site doesn't make it real clear but "standard" is the 32 version that runs on basically everything and the 64 bit option is if you want to run a 64 bit OS and have a compatible 64 bit CPU. 32 bit is less troublesome so stick with that. However, 64 bit is coming along so you may not have too many issues.

You can find the 32-bit edition of Ubuntu here:

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

For the type of computer, just leave it at the first option (Standard personal computer (x86 architecture ...)

Some wireless drivers for wifi chips aren't supported on 64-bit systems, so in that case it is best to use a 32-bit system. In the future, everything will be 64-bit, but for now 32 is just fine for most needs.

Can you help with this problem?
