Burning CD's don't work on Feisty 7.04
Hello,
i tried nearly everything but in Nautilus each attempt to burn a CD is quitted with the message that there is no writable media in the drive. Lower Speed doesn't help even the change of media or at least the whole drive didn't result in another message.
/usr/lib/
Drive:
name: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1210A
device: /dev/hdb
door: closed
type: CD-R, CD-RW, CD
is mounted: FALSE
max read speed: 5645 KiB/s (CD 37.6x, DVD 4.1x)
max write speed: 2117 KiB/s (CD 14.1x, DVD 1.5x)
write speeds: 2100 KiB/s (CD 14.0x, DVD 1.5x)
Media:
label: ''
type: Unknown Media (blank)
is writable: FALSE
is appendable: FALSE
capacity: Could not be determined
size: 0.00 MiB
I read about the Bug #114770 in nautilus-cd-burner (Ubuntu Feisty), which goes around mounting/unmounting media. Is there any correlation to my problem?
On a windows-box exactly this empty media is reported as:
Current Profile: CD-R
Disc Information:
Status: Empty
Erasable: No
Free Sectors: 359'845
Free Space: 736'962'560 bytes
Free Time: 79:59:70 (MM:SS:FF)
Supported Write Speeds: 8x; 16x; 24x; 32x
ATIP Information:
Start Time of LeadIn (MID): 97m24s01f
Last Possible Start Time of LeadOut: 79m59s72f
Ah - i didn't upgrade to Feisty Fawn, it's a native setup on an AMD CPU something with 900MHz and 512 MB RAM.
thx for help
