problem with ubuntu install
i have hp pavilion, intel(R)Celeron(R) CPU 2.70GHz 2.69GHz 248MB Ram. i recieved my copy of ubuntu 7.10 cd via mail. when i insert cd and choose install after a long wait my screen goes black after a long wait on the bhlack screen i then get a tan screen witch after waiting awhile (ive waited up to 2 hours to see what happens)it does nothing. ive tried install numerous times but with no provale. I have tried the F6 option and typing both (on seperate occasions) "acpi=off pci=noacpi" (without the qoute) the acpi=off got the desk top op with a folder that read "example" and rite below it was a icon that read "install" the 2 times i have gotten this far i click install and nothing happens my pc freezes. i tried the pci=noacpi and my pc froze as soon as the ubuntu loading screen disappeared. I have also read in some of the other threads of option screens that pop up during installation but have not seen any option screens except when i insert my cd. Is there any npossible way to get this to work on my pc?. Thanks
